The Friday Takeover Wrapped: Maya

The Friday Takeover Wrapped: Maya

Maya’s Day in the Life: Movement, Light, and Listening In

Last Friday, Maya invited us into her world — a day shaped by movement, morning light, skincare rituals, and moments of intentional pause.

After spending the past decade as an athlete, Maya is now exploring a new chapter of her life in Los Angeles. Consulting for brands, hiking, shooting film, and traveling, her days are guided less by performance and more by presence. Her Friday Takeover was a reminder that ritual doesn’t need to be complicated — it simply needs to be felt.

Here’s a look inside Maya’s day.

Morning: Slow Starts & Inner Balance

Maya begins her mornings gently. Before coffee, before screens, she starts with warm water, lemon, salt, and apple cider vinegar — followed by a second glass of water with marine collagen.

She spends time outside early, letting natural light hit her eyes, journaling or reading, and allowing her body to wake up at its own pace. Some days that includes matcha instead of coffee — a choice she makes to support her hormones and maintain steady energy throughout the day.

These quiet rituals set the tone for everything that follows.

Movement as a Foundation

Movement has always been part of Maya’s identity. After years of competitive athletics, she now approaches it as a form of connection rather than output.

Yoga flows, strength training, long walks, and time outdoors aren’t about intensity — they’re about listening. Moving her body keeps her grounded, clears her mind, and reconnects her to herself, especially during seasons of transition.

Skincare as Ritual, Not Routine

Skincare is woven into Maya’s day as a grounding ritual — something she returns to, not rushes through.

Her routine centers around hydration, nourishment, and consistency:

Whether she’s starting the day or winding down at night, these moments become anchors — reminders to slow down and care for herself fully.

Throughout the Day: Creativity & Presence

Between consulting work, creative projects, movement, and travel, Maya moves through her day intuitively — adjusting her rhythm based on what her body needs rather than pushing through.

Snacks are simple and nourishing. Evenings include skincare, reflection, and time offline. Ritual, for Maya, is about staying connected — even when life is in motion.

Maya on Ritual

“Movement has always been part of who I am — but now it’s about listening, not pushing. My rituals help me stay connected to myself, wherever I am.”

Every Friday.
